Jeremy,

Thanks. Just as I received your post I found that I was having a major 
brain freeze and forgetting to assign a "name" value to the submit 
buttons.

This is what happens when you rely on "components" and "frameworks" to 
handle the low level functionality which is actually very simple.

One of the reasons I am so excited by Rails is that a lot of the 
platforms for web development seem to be inverted mountains. They have 
tons or code sitting between you and fairly simple techniques.
