[Rails] legacy mysql db column c$car_type

Hi all,

Is there anyway to work around having a $ in the
column name (c$car_type)?

I can't change the legacy table and I haven't found a
way to alias a column name.

Am I just SOL and can't use rails in this case or am I
missing something?
